fava bean chili
Ok. I've heard a lot of talk recently about fava beans so I finally found some at our International market. Searching the Internet I wasn't really able to come up with a recipe that I thought my husband would eat without giving me a fight so I made up my own. We both loved it. The fava beans add a rich buttery flavor and are a very rich source of vitamins and fiber. I hope you will give it a try and let me know what your think too.

How To Make fava bean chili
-
Step 1Fava beans must be sorted, washed and soaked for several hours so that you can remove the thick skin. Once that is done they are ready to cook.
-
Step 2Pinto beans must also be sorted, washed and soaked preferably over night. Then cooked in water and salt (to taste) on the stove until tender then drained.
-
Step 3Once the dry beans have been prepared all beans can be put into a crock pot with other ingredients and cooked for several hours until ready to serve.
