crockpot white beans and ham

This is a great bean soup and a break from pinto beans which is almost a staple here in Texas. I love this served with hot corn bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound small white beans
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups diced ham
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 - ribs celery, diced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 - bay leaf

How To Make crockpot white beans and ham

  • Step 1
    Rinse and drain the white beans.
  • Step 2
    Place beans in the crockpot along with all of the other ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Stir to combine, cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or until beans are tender.
  • Step 4
    Remove the bay leaf before serving.
  • Step 5
    Great when garnished with chopped green onions and hot cornbread.
