Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard, ground
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 - 15 oz cans pinto beans, drained & rinsed
  • 2 - 15 oz cans kidney beans, drained & rinsed

How To Make crock pot sweet & sour baked beans

  • Step 1
    In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Let cool; then crumble. In the meantime, leave bacon drippings in skillet. Cook onion in reserved drippings until tender, then add brown sugar, cider vinegar, salt, ground mustard & garlic powder. Bring to a boil.
  • Step 2
    In a 3 1/2 qrt crock pot, combine both types of beans with onion mixture & crumbled bacon. Mix together, cover & cook on LOW for 5 - 6 hours or HIGH for 3 - 4 hours.
