A friend (and former co-worker) gave me this recipe years ago. I love bean soup, but I was having trouble finding a recipe that didn't upset my stomach. I don't know what the magic is in this recipe, but it's one of my favorites!

Ingredients
- 1 pound dried great northern beans
- 2 cups ham, chunked
- 1 - ham bone
- 3 - carrots, sliced
- 2 - stalks of celery, sliced
- 1 - onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 - bay leaf
How To Make bean soup

Step 1Soak beans overnight.

Step 2Drain beans. Combine all ingredients with 6 - 8 cups of water. Simmer till beans are soft.
