~ Another Tasty Red Beans & Rice ~
Can never have enough bean recipes. Enjoy!
- 1 lb
- dry red beans
- 2 c
- 2 - 32 oz
- cartons - chicken stock or broth
- hambone or ham hocks
- 4 small
- celery stalks, sliced
- 1 c
- each - onion, chopped & red bell pepper or your favorite - chopped
- 3 - 4 clove
- garlic, chopped
- 1/2 -3/4 tsp
- red pepper
- 1/2 tsp
- black pepper
- 1 1/2 - 2 lb
- smoked sausage, sliced
- salt to
- taste if ham is not salty
How to Make ~ Another Tasty Red Beans & Rice ~
- 2Remove ham bone and let cool, then remove any meat there might be. Add to the pot of beans.
In a medium skillet add a small amount of oil, then brown the sausage. Add this to the pot, stir and continue cooking another 30 minutes or until beans are tender.
I added no salt as my hambone was plenty salty. Adjust seasonings to your own taste.
Serve over cooked white rice. Enjoy!
