A bunch of popcorn recipes landed in my inbox from Serious Eats. This one caught my eye. This is one of my favorite spice blends & is very versatile.

1/3 c
popcorn kernels
1/4 c
olive oil or melted butter (or a combination)
1/8 c
za'atar spice blend
kosher salt, to taste

How to Make Za'atar Popcorn


  • 1Pop the corn. You should have about 8c popped. My favorite way is in the wok on my gas stove.
  • 2Drizzle with some of the oil or butter. Sprinkle with some of the za-atar. Sprinkle on a small amount of kosher salt.
  • 3Toss/stir until thoroughly distributed. Repeat with remaining oil/butter, za'atar & salt, a bit at a time, until it is to your liking.
  • 4Enjoy!
