My kids and I love pickled sausages.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 3 cups vinegar
  • 10 - drops of red food coloring(optional)
  • 1 package little smokies or any type of beef sausage, not eckrich or any like that.

How To Make pickled sausage

  • Step 1
    Combine the water,salt, vinegar and food coloring in a large pot and heat to a boil.
  • Step 2
    you can cut the sausage to desired size, leave little smokies whole.
  • Step 3
    place sausage in a glass jar that has a lid. pour the mixture in to jar. Place lid on the jar and tighten and let it stand for 2 days then serve.
