found this recipe online not sure where tried it twice and came out pretty good. hope you enjoy

yield 8 /original recipie yields 4 quarts

Ingredients

  • 6 small onions, small white
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 cups distilled white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup sea salt
  • 6 - cucumbers sliced

How To Make bread & butter pickles

  • Step 1
    In large pot, combine the onions, mustard seed, turmeric and celery seed.
  • Step 2
    In sauce pan, combine sugar, vinegar and salt. Bring to a boil. Pour the boiling mixture into the pan with the onion mixture.
  • Step 3
    Add the cucumber slices. Pack to into sterile jars. refrigerate for 2 weeks before eating.
