baked cocoa-covered nuts

Adapted from Low Carbing Among Friends on FB, made with a sugar substitute. I don't do artificial sugar, so if you use honey or sugar, it's not low carb. Always looking for something else to do with nuts when the cookie craving gets bad. Cayenne is a nice addition.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 - egg white
- 1/4 cup cocoa, unsweetened
- 1/4 cup sugar or sweetener of your choice
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 cups raw whole/halves mixed nuts
How To Make baked cocoa-covered nuts

Step 1Preheat oven to 225 degrees F. Grease cookie sheet with butter. (Or use parchment paper).

Step 2Whisk egg whites until frothy. In another bowl, combine dry ingredients (except nuts). Mix nuts, egg whites, and dry ingredients together until coated.

Step 3Layer nuts on tray, evenly distributed. Bake 90 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool completely.
