I found this recipe on the television show called "The Chew" and just had to try it and then share it. I love these snacks and thought why not make my own. But don't skimp on the salt because it is critical for these snacks. They turned out yummy too.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces sharp shredded cheddar cheese or similar
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 tablespoons ice water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make home made cheese-its recipe

  • Step 1
    Place flour, cheese, butter, salt in food processor. Pulse until mixed together adding ice water as you pulse, just enough until it comes together into a quick little doughball. If the dough is too dry you may need to add a little bit more water. Form into ball
  • Step 2
    Let rest in refrigerator for about 20 minutes or until it firms up.
  • Step 3
    Roll out thick. Cut with pizza cutter into squares. Lay squares out and poke little hole in middle of each square.
  • Step 4
    Crimp edges with fork all the way around each square
  • Step 5
    Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
