Fire Crackers

Carol Perricone

I am so tired of store bought crackers, that I started looking for new ideas. I came across this recipe to "doctor" up saltines on I changed it a little, and now I have the perfect cracker to serve with cheese and pepperoni. Goes well with dips, also. Enjoy!!

Add to Grocery List

  • 1 lb
    saltine crackers (4 sleeves)
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1
(1 ounce) packet ranch dressing mix
  • 2 Tbsp
crushed red pepper flakes (i used 1 tsp.) or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder

How to Make Fire Crackers

  1. Line crackers on ends (like dominoes) in an air-tight container.
  2. In a small bowl, mix oil, dressing mix, red pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed.

Continue to stir to prevent the pepper from settling to the bottom of the bowl.
  4. Spoon mixture evenly over crackers, like drizzling icing on a cake.
  5. Close lid tightly and flip the container over every 5 minutes for about 20 minutes. Lightly shake back and forth to make sure all the crackers are coated.
  6. Store in a ziplock bag. Will keep for about a week - if they last that long.
