Does anyone remember those firecracker saltines? I love those. I didn't have any crackers on hand, but as luck would have it - my garden is exploding with Swiss Chard again this year. So I figure if you can make baked kale chips - why not Swiss Chard?

I combine the two and what a great combination! The Swiss Chard has a great flavor baked and when combined with the spicy ranch flavor it's a snack that will be a keeper!

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

2 large
swiss chard bunches, cleaned, dried, stemmed, and torn into large pieces
2 tsp
vegetable oil
1 to 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper to taste
2 to 3 teaspoons ranch dressing mix - powder seasoning

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES

How to Make Swiss Chard Firecracker Chips

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large mixing bowl combine chard and oil. Stir to coat evenly. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, and ranch dressing mix. Stir until well coated.
  • 2Place chard on baking sheets covered with parchment paper - single layer.
  • 3Place in oven and watch CLOSELY - you don't want them to burn. The outer chips will cook quicker than the ones in the center. Remove the chips with they are crispy.
  • 4You can store leftover (if there are any) in airtight containers.

    Enjoy!
