I made this with my mother in law the first few years my husband and I was married, and when I make it that is the fond memory I have.. so delicious and buttery it almost tastes like toffee

popped corn
3/4 c
brown sugar

light corn syrup

baking soda
1/4 tsp
vanilla extract

How to Make Old fashion Carmel Corn


  • 1In a large pot, mix brown sugar, butter and corn syrup, cook to a hard rolling boil to (aprox 4 Min)on medium heat remove from heat and add vanilla and soda. gently pour over the popped corn stirring gently
  • 2you may add nuts if you desire, bake at 300 degrees for 15 min.. remove from oven, stir for 5 minutes. bake again for 5 min longer,
  • 3gently put it on wax paper til it is cooled
