Holiday “Merry Munch”

Merry Munch is a treat that can be made at any time during the year, but it looks especially festive with the Christmas M&Ms. Swap out with pink and red M&Ms for Valentine’s Day, pastel M&Ms at Easter, and so on.

2 qt
popped corn
2 c
peanuts or mixed nuts
2 1/2 c
christmas m&ms
1 c
butter or margarine
1 1/3 c
white sugar
1 1/2 c
light corn syrup


1Mix popcorn, peanuts and M&Ms in a large bowl.
2Heat butter, sugar, and corn syrup in saucepan until mixture comes to a rolling boil. Boil until comes to a light caramel color, about 15-20 minutes, stirring constantly.
3Take off heat and pour over popcorn mixture (avoid having it be too hot, or you’ll melt the M&Ms). Stir until popcorn mixture is well-coated.
4Spread mixture on a greased cookie sheet, let cool and then break into pieces.
