This is an old recipe taken from a very old book I came across years ago. There were no time or heat settings given so it's up to the person cooking to decide when it turns amber.

Ingredients
- 2 quarts salted popped corn
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 2/3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1/2-1 cup peanuts, salted and without skins
How To Make cracker jacks

Step 1Have ready the 2 quarts of popcorn and a buttered cookie sheet.

Step 2In a large kettle, mix sugar,water, butter and vinegar. Over med-high heat,cook mixture till amber in color. Do not stir.

Step 3Stir in corn and mix till all is coated. Add peanuts if desired. Spread onto cookie sheet to cool. Break into pieces.
