This has always been a favorite with my family--and it's really easy!!! I make this on New Years Eve and plenty of other times too!!!

yield Makes two Large Gallon Size Ziploc Bags

Ingredients

  • 1 cup melted margarine
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup, light
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 7 quarts popped corn (i use a popcorn popper-not microwave buttered-although plain microwave popcorn will work too)

How To Make carmel corn

  • Step 1
    Combine melted margarine, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt in sauce pan. Bring to boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat add: vanilla and soda. Stir well until foamy. Pour over 7 quarts popped corn in large roaster pan. Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 15 min. Pour out on waxed paper to separate and dry.
