I double the butter that the recipe calls for and it makes it chewier. Sometimes there is leftover caramel sauce and that is good on old fashioned vanilla ice cream. :)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bag of popcorn, popped
  • 2 cups brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup karo syrup
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • - aluminum foil

How To Make caramel popcorn

  • Step 1
    Pop a 1 1b. bag of popcorn. Try and pull out as many unpopped kernels as possible.
  • Step 2
    Melt butter, brown sugar and Karo syrup. Cook for 3 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add 1 can sweetened condensed milk. Cook another 4 minutes; stirring occasionally.
  • Step 4
    Pour over popped popcorn. Mix well and turn out onto almunium foil to cool.
  • Step 5
    Store in airtight container.
