- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup light or dark corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 quarts or 20 cups of popped corn
How To Make caramel corn

Step 1Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.

Step 2Melt butter in a sauce pan and stir in the brown sugar, syrup and salt.

Step 3Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Then boil without stirring for 5 minutes or until a candy thermometer hits 248 degrees.

Step 4Remove and stir in the baking soda and vanilla.

Step 5Pour over the popped corn, slowly mixing well.

Step 6Put popped corn into two large baking pans.

Step 7Bake the mix for 45 to 60 minutes! Stir every 15 minutes.

Step 8When finished, cool completely and break into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
