This is my Grand Mothers recipe so it probably goes back to the early 1900's

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup light molasses
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make soft molasses cookies

  • Step 1
    cream together shortening and sugar, beat in egg and molasses, stir in vinegar and sour cream
  • Step 2
    stir in dry ingredients
  • Step 3
    drop by teaspoons 2 inches apart on creased cookie sheet bake at 350 for 15 min.
