Have made these for all 40 years I've been married. The kids still request Dad to make them every chance they get.
Hint....MAKE EXTRAS, they go fast.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    hersheys cocoa
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    butter (margarine works fine)
  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 c
    oatmeal

How to Make No Bake Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Put sugar, cocoa, milk and butter in saucepan.
  2. Over medium to medium-high heat bring to boil, stirring frequently.
  3. Boil for 1 minute and 15 seconds. (I've found that the extra 15 seconds makes sure the sugar is fully melted and they more consistently set up.)
  4. Remove immediately from heat and add peanut butter.
    Stir until peanut butter is melted and blended.
  5. Add vanilla and blend.
  6. Add oatmeal and stir until all the oatmeal is coated and covered with chocolate.
  7. Drop by tablespoon on to sheets of foil.
    Allow to cool.
  8. Enjoy.
