mum's foolproof fudge (with condensed milk)

very heavy, very rich, very, very good :) I didn't want to make 2 separate batches, so I just poked walnuts into half of the soft fudge with toothpicks. I like both plain and with nuts.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 ounces can of eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
  • dash salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

How To Make mum's foolproof fudge (with condensed milk)

  • Step 1
    In heavy saucepan melt chocolate chips, Eagle Brand milk and salt.
  • Step 2
    Remove from heat, add walnuts and vanilla and mix well. Spread evenly into wax paper lined 8 inch square pan.
  • Step 3
    Chill until firm, turn onto cutting board, peel off paper and cut into squares. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
