Mom made these every year in 1965 she gave the recipe to me, I have been making them ever since they are my favorites.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 plus 1 cups confectioner's sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup chipped almonds
  • - confectioners sugar

How To Make mom's almond crescents

  • Step 1
    Cream butter and sugar Add egg yolk And flavorings blend well
  • Step 2
    Add flour gradially until moistened. Add nuts.
  • Step 3
    Form into crescents about 2 1/2 inches long.
  • Step 4
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until slightly brown.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar while hot.
