your favorite rice cereal
2 c
coconut, shredded optional
1 c
light brown sugar - firmly packed
1/2 c
butter
1/2 c
light corn syrup
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
baking soda
12 oz
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 c
raisins
1/2 c
dried cranberries

How to Make Cereal and Chocolate Party Mix

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  • 2Combine cereal, coconut and peanuts in large roasting pan.
  • 3In small saucepan over medium heat, heat brown sugar, butter and corn syrup to boiling, stirring.
  • 4Boil 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  • 5Pour over cereal mixture, stir until evenly coated.
  • 6Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • 7Cool, stirring frequently and stir in morsels and raisins.
  • 8Store in airtight container.
