Ingredients

  • 9 c
    your favorite rice cereal
  • 2 c
    coconut, shredded optional
  • 1 c
    light brown sugar - firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 12 oz
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 c
    raisins
  • 1/2 c
    dried cranberries

How to Make Cereal and Chocolate Party Mix

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Combine cereal, coconut and peanuts in large roasting pan.
  3. In small saucepan over medium heat, heat brown sugar, butter and corn syrup to boiling, stirring.
  4. Boil 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  5. Pour over cereal mixture, stir until evenly coated.
  6. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Cool, stirring frequently and stir in morsels and raisins.
  8. Store in airtight container.
