Ingredients
- 12 slices bacon, center cut
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
How To Make candied bacon

Step 1Place oven rack in center of oven. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

Step 2Cut bacon in half crosswise. Place on the baking sheet.

Step 3In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Sprinkle sugar mixture over just ONE SIDE of the bacon. Spread evenly over each slice, using your fingers.

Step 4Bake until bacon is crispy and the sugar is bubbling, about 20 minutes Rotate the baking sheet after 10 minutes.

Step 5Transfer bacon to a wire rack to cool completely.
