I have been searching high and low for a good butter cookie like my grandmother used to make. This is the closest I have found so far. I made a few dozen today for the kids so I thought I would share.

2 cups flour
8 tbsp sugar
2 sticks butter
1 tsp vanilla

How to Make Butter Cookies


  • 1Cream sugar and butter. Add vanilla. Add flour until combined. Roll into small balls.Press a fork in the center of each one.Bake on un-greased baking sheet at 400 F for 15 minutes.
