brown ale
2 Tbsp
unsalted butter
1 1/4 c
dark brown sugar
1/4 c
dark corn syrup
1 c
heavy cream
1 1/2 c
salted thin pretzels

How to Make Beer Pretzel Caramel Squares


  • 1Pour beer into a glass, let go flat for 1 hour.
  • 2Butter 8 inch baking dish. Bring half the beer to a boil and reduce 10 minutes.
  • 3Combine remaining beer, brown sugar, corn syrup, cream and butter; bring to a boil until a candy thermometer reads 235 F. Remove from heat and stir in reduced beer and roughly chopped pretzels. Spread in dish and chill until firm. Cut into squares.
