Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/8 cup yellow onion
  • 1/4 cup fresh sauerkraut in a jar
  • 1/4 cup deuseldorf mustard

How To Make bavarian burger bites

  • Step 1
    Finely chop 1/4 of a sweet onion. Heat a skillet over med. heat and saute the onions until transparent and soft.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl (or a mixing bowl) thoroughly combine the ground beef, chopped sauerkraut, onions, 1 egg and mustard.
  • Step 3
    Mold the mixture into small patties. (I used a biscuit cutter as a mold)
  • Step 4
    Cook the patties over a grill, broiler, or skillet. Salt & pepper and cook completely through .
  • Step 5
    Garnish with condiments of choice. (I used a dollop of mustard, thin sliced pickles and tomatoes.) Serve for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, appetizers etc. They are good hot or cold.
  • Step 6
    Store in the refrigerator if you're lucky enough to have leftovers.
