I remember as a child sneaking these at family Christmas gatherings because they were supposed to be for the adults only cause of the liquor. But these are so wonderful as a holiday treat and quite easy to make.

These whiskey balls are similar to a rum ball, just prepared with whiskey. If you don't love whiskey, this recipe may not be for you. But if you like whiskey, definitely give them a try. Ground pecans add a nice texture and flavor. The whiskey is noticeable but not overpowering. With a hint of chocolate, these will be delicious as an after dinner treat for adults. The Test Kitchen

How to Make Aunt Mildred's Whiskey Balls

Step-by-Step

Put wafers in food processor grind until very fine.
Do the same with pecans.
Combine these with the sifted powdered sugar and the cocoa.
Add the syrup and whiskey.
Mix thoroughly.
Shape into balls (about the shape of small meatballs).
Roll in the granulated sugar. Store in a tightly covered container. Does not need to be refrigerated.
