sweet & spicy nuts

I've made these for a variety of parties and they always go over well. Warning ... there is a slight delay in the heat, so it surprises people. Switch the nuts to your favorite kind. Sometimes nuts stay sticky, but they are always delicious ... Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chipotle chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup whole almonds
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- dash - louisiana-style hot sauce (if desired)
How To Make sweet & spicy nuts

Step 1In a small bowl, combine salt and spices, then set aside.

Step 2In a large frying pan, melt butter. Add nuts; cook over medium heat until nuts are toasted (about 4-5 minutes)

Step 3Sprinkle nuts with spice mixture. Add brown sugar, water and worcestershire sauce and hot sauce (if desired).

Step 4Stir over heat for 1-2 minutes or until sugar is completely melted. Spread nuts on foil to cool. Store in an airtight container.
