salted peanut chews
I was at a show today with my soap....a lot of different vendors as this was "Seedy Saturday". There were a bunch of women beside me called "Garden Hoe" (love the name!)and they were selling this great cookbook and of course I can't resist another for my collection...they were serving these treats and they were so darn good I couldn't stop eating them!! Here is the recipe taken from my new book...no, I haven't made them but I sure can vouch for how good they are and I'll be making these real soon!!. Hope you all enjoy!!! This is pretty much how they look...

Ingredients
- 1 package yellow cake mix (base)
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 - egg
- 3 cups miniature marshmallows ...white
- TOPPING:
- 2/3 cup corn syrup, light
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 package 12 oz paenut butter chips ( 2 cups)
- 2 cups rice krispies
- 2 cups salted peanuts
How To Make salted peanut chews

Step 1preheat oven to 350. Combine all base ingredients except marshmallows at low speed until crumbly. Press onto bottom of a 9x13 ungreased pan. Bake 12 to 18 mins or until light golden brown. remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with marshmallows. Return to oven for 1 - 2 mins or until marshmallows start to puff. Cool while preparing topping.

Step 2Topping: I a large saucepan, heat corn syrup , butter, vanilla and chips until chips are melted and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Stir in cereal and nuts. Immediately spread warm topping over marshmallows, spreading to cover. Chill and cut into bars. They told me these freeze well and I told them they'll never see the freezer!! LOL
