Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup salted cashews
  • 1 cup salted peanuts
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom

How To Make cardamom spiced nuts

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in 10-inch skillet; stir in nuts and 1/2 cup sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is melted and nuts are browned and caramelized (8 to 12 minutes).
  • Step 2
    Meanwhile, combine 3 tablespoons sugar and cardamom in large bowl. Stir in hot caramelized nuts; toss to coat. Spread on waxed paper; cool completely. Break into clusters. Store in tightly covered container.

    Microwave Directions: Melt butter in 9-inch square baking dish on HIGH (50 to 60 seconds). Stir in nuts and 1/2 cup sugar. Microwave on HIGH, stirring every 2 minutes, until sugar is melted and nuts are browned and caramelized (10 to 12 minutes). Meanwhile, combine 3 tablespoons sugar and cardamom in large bowl. Stir in hot caramelized nuts; toss to coat. Spread on waxed paper; cool completely. Break into clusters. Store in tightly covered container.
