My mom used to make these every Christmas season but they are great for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

How To Make candied walnuts

  • Step 1
    Combine sugar, sour cream and vanilla in large skillet. Heat over medium to medium-high heat, stirring until well incorporated.
  • Step 2
    Bring to low, rolling boil, stirring constantly for about 4 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat and add walnuts. Using 2 rubber spatulas, toss, and stir to coat the walnuts.
  • Step 4
    Turn out onto waxed paper and separate with forks. Store in airtight container.
