ranch crackers
This is the recipe that, according to my grandson, heralds in the holiday season. I don’t remember where I got the recipe but I’ve made it since the 80’s when my girls were small. They are now all in their 40’s.

Ingredients
- 2 packages either oyster crackers or mini saltine cracker
- 1 package ranch style dressing mix
- 1 teaspoon dill weed
- 1 cup vegetable oil
How To Make ranch crackers
-
Step 1The easiest method I’ve found to make these crackers are to put the crackers in a gallon size freezer zipper bag.
-
Step 2Pour dressing mix (this can either be an individual package or 3:tablespoons dry mix from the large canister). Add dill weed and shake bag to mix the dry ingredients. Once this is evenly mixed open the baggie and pour the oil in. Zip bag closed and rotate it to combine all.
-
Step 3All the oil won’t be absorbed immediately so continue to rotate every couple of minutes until all the oil is absorbed.
-
Step 4If you want to experiment you can use any flavor of dry dressing mix. I like to use a spicy mix sometimes. I have also added black pepper or parmesan cheese. Feel free to experiment. Taste the dry dressing first if you’re going to use a different flavor to be sure you like the taste of it.
