I made these for my kids when they were small, and when they were a little older we made them together. It was always fun times, and they're really very good.

Ingredients

1/2 c
all purpose or unbleached flour
1 3/4 c
whole wheat flour
1/2 c
sugar or splenda
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
cinnamon
1 stick
cold butter, cut into cubes
2 Tbsp
honey
2 Tbsp
molasses
1/4 c
cold water
1 tsp
vanilla extract

How to Make Graham Crackers

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix together the flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add the honey, molasses, water and vanilla.
  • 2Mix until dough holds together, then knead in the bowl until well mixed and smooth.
  • 3Roll out between two sheets of wax paper to 1/8" thick. Chill for at least an hour. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut into 2" by 2" squares. Using a fork or toothpick, prick holes in each cracker. Place on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper.
  • 4Bake in 350 degree F preheated oven about 15 minutes, until edges are lightly browned. Let cool on pan.
