Over the years I have gleaned many a good recipe from my assistant, and this is one.

The perfect savory accompaniment for your next brunch or cocktail party! These cheese wafers are savory, buttery, and full of cheese. There is a slight crunch from the Rice Krispies that makes these crackers a little interesting and different from other recipes. If you like things a little spicy, add more cayenne pepper.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup Rice Krispies, crushed slightly
- 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 pinch salt
How To Make cheddar wafers

Step 1Mix the flour, salt, and cayenne. Use a fork and cut in the softened butter.

Step 2Mix in the shredded cheese and Rice Krispies. This will be dry and crumbly.

Step 3Scoop out about 1 Tbsp of the mix. Use the warmth from your hands to form balls and then slightly flatten them on a cookie sheet.

Step 4Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Let cool slightly, then transfer to a cooling rack.
