a huge batch of awesome snack mix
My Father would make the traditional Chex Mix every Christmas, adding a few of his favorite ingredients. I started making it when I got married and left home, sort of combining the Chex Mix and Crispix Mix recipes, plus adding some of my favorite snacks to the mix. This recipe will make enough so you can give as gifts and keep some for yourself. Warning: it goes FAST!! You may have to make more than one batch!

How To Make a huge batch of awesome snack mix
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
-
Step 2Place the cereal, cheese crackers, pretzels, corn chips, oat cereal, sesame sticks, nuts and horn shaped corn snacks in a very large roasting pan. Set aside.
-
Step 3In a medium size, microwave safe bowl, combine the melted margarine, oil, onion salt, garlic salt, worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and hot sauce (if desired). Mix well and microwave on high for 1 minutes. Mix well and keep stirring until salt is dissolved.
-
Step 4Pour evenly over dry ingredients in roasting pan, gently mixing as you pour. Place in preheated oven and bake for 1 hour 10 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to prevent burning and to distribute melted margarine evenly over dry ingredients.
-
Step 5When all liquid has been absorbed and mixture is "toasty", remove from oven and cool completely. Add the cheese curls and mix gently. Store in airtight containers.
