Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons barbecue rub or tony cachere's seasoning
- 1/4 cup prepared yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons beer
- 1 jar dill pickle slices
- - oil for frying
How To Make frickles

Step 1Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees.

Step 2In a wide flat pan, combine flour, cornmeal, and seasoning.

Step 3In a small bowl, make a slurry of mustard and beer.

Step 4Dip the pickle slices in the mustard mixture, then in the flour/cornmeal mixture.

Step 5Slip slices into hot oil and deep fry until batter is browned. The pickles will float to the top when done.

Step 6Remove pickles from the hot oil with tongs and drain on paper towels on a shallow plate.

Step 7Serve with Ranch dressing or with your favorite dipping sauce.
