I've had lots of Buffalo chicken dip recipes and there isn't a Buffalo chicken I haven't met and loved. However, there are a lot of variations of this particular dip and I created the one I liked the most. It's delicious and easy. I prefer this to the "layered" types and prefer all the ingredients together for each wonderful bite!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This simple dip is packed full of all the flavors you expect from Buffalo chicken. We picked up a pre-cooked chicken from the deli which made preparation a breeze. Just mixed everything together and baked - easy peasy. The hot sauce really soaks into the chicken, but the cream cheese and ranch tone down the spiciness (it wasn't overly spicy for our taste buds). We served this with corn chips but scooping with celery would be tasty too. Test Kitchen Avatar The Test Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 1
roasted chicken, deboned and shredded (you can use any chicken, but the roasted tastes best)
  • 1 bottle
Frank's hot sauce, 12 oz. (don't use anything else)
  • 1 pkg
    Philadelphia cream cheese, 8 oz.
  • 1 bunch
    scallions, chopped
  • 16 oz
cheddar cheese, shredded (i prefer white if you can find it)
  • 1 c
blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing (i prefer the jalapeno ranch by litehouse)
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter

How to Make Denise's Buffalo Chicken Dip

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Shred the chicken and place in a bowl. Add the Franks hot sauce to thoroughly mix together which is at least 3/4 of the bottle if not all. Set aside to marinate.
  3. In a large bowl, add your full-size bar of cream cheese and butter.
  4. Microwave till soft enough to mix without chunks.
  5. Then add your chopped scallions, the bag of cheddar cheese and dressing. Mix together.
  6. Add the chicken and any sauce in the bowl.
  7. Stir together.
  8. Pour into a casserole dish.
  9. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  10. Serve with any type of tortilla chip. I like to serve this is the jumbo scoop Fritos. Spicy and delicious!
