This recipe is at least 55 years old. My mother made it for as long as I can remember and I am 50+ yo. Now I make it for family gatherings, card parties, picnics. It is easy, homemade from scratch, and people can never guess the 'secret' ingredient. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Just mix the 4 ingredients- and all done.

Ingredients For chip dip

  • 3 oz
    softened cream cheese
  • ¼ c
    chili sauce
  • ½ c
    salad dressing or mayo
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated onion

How To Make chip dip

  • 1
Mix softened cream cheese, salad dressing (mayo) and chili sauce all together. Add grated onion. I use an 8 oz pkg of cream cheese and since this is nearly a triple of the basic recipe, I just about triple the other 3 ingredients as well. This is an undescribable chip dip. At least try it, at your next potluck, card party, or any get-together. You can add a bit of milk if you like but I have never needed to.
