How To Make a healthier 7 layer taco dip
-
Step 1Cook ground turkey in a medium skillet until done and add taco seasoning as directed by package. Optional: I like to add fresh onions and garlic to my meat while it's cooking. As well as a dash or cumin and smoked paprika for added depth of flavor. This is certainly not necessary if you don't have it on hand.
-
Step 2When meat is done, let cool, or refrigerate. I sometimes make the meat the day before a party and make extra to have tacos that night for dinner. This saves some time and kills 2 birds with one stone.
-
Step 3Once the meat is cold, you can start building your layers. I usually make mine in a 13x9 in pan, but anything with some depth will work.
-
Step 4Start with the re fried beans at the bottom, then the meat. After that the salsa, sour cream and cheese. Then sprinkle the top with olives and green onion.
