INGREDIENTS

chocolate wafers:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
•
1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch process cocoa
•
1 tsp baking soda
•
1/4 tsp baking powder
•
1/4 tsp salt
•
1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar*
•
1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
•
1 large egg
•
*If you want a wafer that isn’t as sweet like Nabisco’s version, cut out 1/2 cup of sugar. (I put in about 1 1/4 cups of sugar.)

For the filling:
•
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room-temperature
•
2 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted*
•
2 tsp vanilla extract
•
*I didn’t sift it (lazy baker slash impatient appetite)
