Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef(can use 1/2 ground sausage) or
- 2 pounds ground sausage (italian or breakfast)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
- 25 ounces marinara sauce
- 16 ounces ziti, uncooked
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese, low-fat or low-fat cottage cheese
- 1 tablespoon parsley flakes, dried
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded (divided)
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- - sour cream, optional
How To Make slow-cooker beef ziti

Step 1Brown ground beef in a medium skillet. Drain.

Step 2Add garlic, and oregano. Cook until tender, about 5 - 10 minutes.

Step 3Spray crock of slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 4Combine ground beef and marinara sauce.

Step 5Fill marinara sauce jar with water and add stir into the ground beef and marinara sauce.

Step 6Spoon ½ of the beef and marinara sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker.

Step 7Pour in ziti noodles and stir.

Step 8Mix parsly flakes with Ricotta cheese. Spread on top of mixture, sprinkle with ½ of Mozzarella cheese.

Step 9Spoon remainder of beef and marinara sauce over the cheeses and cook for about 5 hours on low heat.

Step 10Remove lid from slow cooker and add remaining Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

Step 11Return lid to slow cooker and allow cheese to melt for about 5 minutes.

Step 12Serve with a dollop of sour cream, optional.
