Ingredients

  • 5 large sweet potatoes, washed
  • 1 stick butter, room temp
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • salt
  • TOPPING
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

How To Make whipped sweet potatoes with brown sugar crumble

  • Step 1
    Heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Prick the potatoes and place on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake until soft, about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Step 2
    Remove and set aside until cool enough to handle. Pull the skins off the potatoes and add them to a bowl.
  • Step 3
    Add the butter, heavy cream, and vanilla. Beat with beaters or a stand mixer until smooth. Taste and season with salt.
  • Step 4
    Grease an 8 x 10 baking pan and add the sweet potato mixture.
  • Step 5
    Turn the oven down to 350 and bake for about 15 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Mix the ingredients for the topping and put them on top of the sweet potatoes.
  • Step 7
    Bake another 15 minutes. Serve immediately.
