This is one of my favorites. My Mom used to make this for the Holidays.

To increase in servings and 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup sugar per every two cans of beans

How to Make Trudy's Sweet-n-Sour Green Beans


  1. Drain green beans.
  2. Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels, let cool and crumble.
  3. Turn heat to medium. Add to bacon drippings 1 1/2 cups of vinegar and 1 1/2 cups of sugar. Cook until sugar dissolves. Add greens beans and cover. Cook until beans start to wrinkle and have a brownish green color.Remove from stove and drain beans. Place beans in a serving dish and bacon, toss and serve.
