19 inch deep dish frozen pie shell
4 largeripe tomatoes-sliced
3/4 cdukes mayonnaise (other nonfat mayonnaise will work)
3/4 cshredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cshredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cfresh basil chopped
1/4 ceither mozzarella or cheddar cheese-shredded for bottom of pie shell
***PREHEAT OVEN TO 400 DEGREES***
How to Make Tomato Pie
- Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheese (about 1/4 cup) in the bottom of the pie shell. Pre-bake the pie shell for 5 minutes in a preheated 400 degree oven. Remove from oven, layer slices of tomato and basil in the pre-baked pie shell.
- Mix the mayonnaise and cheese. Spread the mayonnaise mixture on top of the tomatoes. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 35 minutes until golden brown on top.
