Ingredients

    5 cups halved cherry tomatoes
  • ·
    6 slices lean bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • ·
    1/3 cup snipped fresh basil
  • ·
    2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • ·
    2 tsp. sugar
  • `
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • ·
    1 small clove garlic, minced
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • ·
    4 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • ·
    fresh basil sprigs

How to Make Tomato, Bacon and Basil Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. In a bowl, toss together tomatoes, bacon and basil. For dressing, in small bowl, mix vinegar,sugar, dry mustard, garlic,s alt and pepper. Add olive oil in a steady stream, whisking til blended. Pour dressing over tomato mixture. Toss lightly. Garnish with additional fresh basil sprigs if desired. Makes 6 side dish servings.
