tawnya's garlic butter and bacon green beans
I came up with this when I wanted something else to do with fresh green beans. I started with garlic butter ones, but wanted to tie the bacon with another side into the whole meal.

How To Make tawnya's garlic butter and bacon green beans
-
Step 1Clean the green beans by snapping off the ends and breaking them in half if you want.
-
Step 2While doing this, dice and cook bacon in a large skillet. Once the bacon is crisp, remove it and place it on paper towels. Drain the pan, leaving approximately 2 Tbsp of bacon fat in the pan.
-
Step 3Boil water in a large pot. When the water is at a rolling boil, add green beans. Cook green beans in water for approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on how crisp you want the green beans. Drain and set aside.
-
Step 4Melt the butter in the pan with the bacon fat.
-
Step 5Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
-
Step 6Add green beans to butter and garlic. Toss until they are coated with the garlic butter.
-
Step 7Toss in the cooked bacon and add pepper. Salt to taste.
