I came up with this when I wanted something else to do with fresh green beans. I started with garlic butter ones, but wanted to tie the bacon with another side into the whole meal.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

If you want your family to eat their veggies, serve them these garlic butter and bacon green beans. They are the ultimate green beans. Crisp bacon adds its smoky flavor to the side dish. Fresh minced garlic is cooked with butter, and then fresh green beans are mixed with the flavorful garlic butter. Stirring in the crisp bacon at the last minute keeps the bacon crisp and adds a little texture. An easy side dish recipe.
