A tasty rice dish that would make a great side with most meat entree's.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain rice, uncooked
  • 3 - 3 1/2 cups water or chicken broth or as much needed for rice to become tender - chicken broth naturally will add more flavor.
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 12 ounces mixed vegetables. frozen or favorite combination
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How To Make ~ tasty rice side ~

  • Step 1
    In a large saucepan over medium heat bring rice, start with 3 cups liquid, garlic salt, pepper and soup mix to a boil.
  • Step 2
    Once boiling add the frozen vegetables and bring to another boil...reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook another 15 - 20 minutes or until rice is cooked. Keep checking and add more water or broth as needed so the rice doesn't stick, but until tender.
  • Step 3
    When rice is cooked, stir in butter and parsley. Serve hot as a side to just about any dish.
