Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain rice, uncooked
- 3 - 3 1/2 cups water or chicken broth or as much needed for rice to become tender - chicken broth naturally will add more flavor.
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 12 ounces mixed vegetables. frozen or favorite combination
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon butter
How To Make ~ tasty rice side ~

Step 1In a large saucepan over medium heat bring rice, start with 3 cups liquid, garlic salt, pepper and soup mix to a boil.

Step 2Once boiling add the frozen vegetables and bring to another boil...reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook another 15 - 20 minutes or until rice is cooked. Keep checking and add more water or broth as needed so the rice doesn't stick, but until tender.

Step 3When rice is cooked, stir in butter and parsley. Serve hot as a side to just about any dish.
