1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup bottled salsa
1/4 cup bottled barbecue sauce
1/4 cup yellow mustard or spicy brown mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons steak seasoning
one can pork and beans in tomato sauce, undrained, 31 ounces
one can butter beans, black beans, or pinto beans, rinsed and drained, 16 ounces
one can dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained, 16 ounces
1/2 cup chopped onion, one medium
potato chips, broken, optional

How to Make Sweet spicy baked beans


  • 1preheat oven to 325°. In a large bowl stir together Brown sugar, ketchup, salsa, barbecue sauce, mustard and steak seasoning. Stir in pork and beans, butter beans, kidney beans and onion. Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased 2 1/2 to 3 quart casserole.
  • 2Cover and bake for one hour. Uncover beans and stir. bake, uncovered, about 45 minutes more or until desired consistency, stirring occasionally. Beans will thickened slightly as they cool. If desired, top with broken potato chips. Makes 10 to 12 servings.
