Ingredients
- 3 large yams
- 1 15oz cans pineapple, in own juice (not heavy syrup)
- 1 - lemon
- 1 - orange
- 1 - tangerine
- 1 - apple, granny smith, or fugi (a hard apple)
- 3/4 cup sparkling apple cider
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 4 tablespoons turbinado or dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons dark molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
How To Make sweet potatoes

Step 1Peel and slice sweet potatoes into rounds, place in cold water. SET ASIDE.

Step 2ZEST orange and lemon. Squeeze juice of orange, lemon and tangerine.

Step 3Peel, core and slice apples. Pour 1/4 cup of lemon juice over apples. Add zest of lemon & orange. POUR orange & tangerine juice over apples & stir well. SET ASIDE

Step 4In a large pot over medium heat, mix Pineapples w/ juice, maple syrup, brown sugar, molasses, and all spices together. Stir well to mix. Bring to a slow boil, cook for 10 minutes

Step 5Add sweet potato slices and cook until JUST tender ~about 10 minutes. Add apples, cook 10 minutes more!
